 Welcome 

In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Museum of Aviation, the General Robert L. Scott Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS/USA) will hold a scale model contest at the Museum of Aviation Saturday, October 24, 2009. The contest begins at 9:00 am with registration taking place between 9 am-12:30 pm.  Judging will be held from 12:30 pm-3:30 pm.

 LOCATION

The contest will be held on the Museum of Aviation grounds amongst the aircraft exhibits in the "Century of Flight Hangar" .  The Location Tab above will link you to Google Maps which depicts the location.   The green arrow is centered on the "Century of Flight Hangar".  Use the zoom feature (sliding bar on the left side of the map) to identify which building in the museum complex is the "Century of Flight Hangar".  You can also use the Location Tab to get driving directions.  Once the map is open, click on "Get Directions" in the top left corner, type in your beginning location in the "A" space and hit "Get Directions".  It will compile driving directions for you.

ENTRY FEES / FORMS

Entry into the Museum of Aviation is free and the entire public is invited.  Contest entry fees will be $10.00 for adults ($8.00 for current IPMS/USA members) for the first model.  Subsequent  model entries will be $1.00 each. 

Contest entry fees for juniors is a $5.00 flat fee with no additonal cost for entering mutiple models.  There will be two levels for juniors: 12 years and under and 13 years to 17 years .

Entry forms are located at the Entry Forms Tab above.  Please fill them out prior to arrival to expedite the registration process.

CATEGORIES  & SPECIAL AWARDS

There are numerous categories ranging from: Aircraft, Armor, Ships, Automobiles and Trucks, to Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Figures and Motorcycles.   Awards will include 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category plus Special Awards for  Best of Show, Best Museum of Aviation Subject, Best Robert L. Scott Aircraft, and Best Georgia Air Guard Aircraft. Click the Categories Tab above to see the specific categories breakdown and the Special Awards Tab for qualification for those awards.

CONTEST RULES

The contest rules will follow modified International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS) rules.  Please click on the Contest Rules Tab for the specific Contest Rules breakdown. 

VENDORS

Click the Vendors Tab above to see which Vendors will be attending.  Check back often because the list will change as they sign up.  If you are interested in purchasing space to sell your wares at the contest, please click the Vendor Reg Form Tab, print and fill out the Request form, then send it to the  indicated points of contact.

ABOUT US 

The Scott Model Chapter was formed in 1977 and named after Macon's WWII fighter pilot ace, Robert L. Scott, Jr. who authored the WWII best seller "God Is My Co-Pilot."
